“I should never have asked for a night with you. This would never have happened if I’d had more willpower.”

Dollar Series – Book 2
By Pepper Winters
A thief met a possession and did what he did best.
Now, he has to live with the consequences.
Including the girl he claimed.
Pimlico was stolen and sold all before her twenty-first birthday.
Two years with a master who almost killed her is over.
She has a new master now.
A master who demands everything, expects everything, and requires ultimate access to her mind.
Elder broke countless rules when he took the girl who wasn’t his.
She confuses and bewitches him, but his fascination won’t save her from his desires.
He wants to know her.
She wants to forget.
The bright, young wealthy woman known as Tasmin died the day she was taken from her family and sold into slavery. She became a possession. She became a pet forced to do the bidding of her master. She became Pimlico, a helpless creature in a world of sexual depravity and barbarous physical abuse. She lost her innocence. She lost all hope. Her only defense in this depraved world is to hang onto the small pieces that are left of her soul. She has withdrawn into herself and chosen to suffer in silence. She will never give her voice to those that have destroyed her soul. She would rather die than scream in pain. It’s the only thing she has left that belongs to her. For two long years she has suffered in silence. She has taken every rape, every beating, with a stoic fortitude. She will never surrender what’s left of her soul. She will not even give Elder Prest, the man who stole her from her master and saved her live, a word of gratitude. He is her new master.
On the surface Elder Prest seems sincere and caring about her well being. Beneath the surface is a ruthless thief in a businessman disguise. He is far more dangerous than her former master because he wants her to surrender what’s left of her soul. He is demanding her to give him her voice. He is demanding her to become part of the living.
Pimlico is lost in her new world. The kindness and care she has been given aboard Elder’s ship is beyond her comprehension. While her body heals, her soul still suffers deeply. She is beyond broken. She is a empty shell existing within flesh and bone.
On the high seas two very willful people battle the raging storm within their souls. For Pim it is a battle to become valuable in her new world. For Elder it is a battle of the demons that claim his soul. He paid a far higher price when he took Pim. He is paying with his conscience. He is paying with his soul.
Pepper Winters added another multi faceted layer to Elder and Pim’s story. The perfect precision of word choices, profound statements, and finely tuned sychronicity in the delivery of those words drive this story into uncharted waters. She allows the readers into the minds of both Pim and Elder without giving away too much. It leaves the reader even more intrigued with these two volatile people.
As usual, in true Pepper Winters fashion, the story ends on a cliffhanger that will take the Dollars series in a new direction. I can’t wait to see what comes next. A storm is raging and only the strong will survive.
Dollar Series – Book 1
By Pepper Winters
“At 18 I had pennies, but money didn’t make me bold. At 19 I had dollars, but it didn’t dull the pain of being sold. At 20 I had hundreds, but then I met him and was found. At 21 I had thousands, but all I wanted was to be bound.”
“At 23 I had dollars, but life changed and made me rich. At 25 I had hundreds, but it wasn’t enough to stop my killing itch. At 27 I had thousands, but my reputation didn’t set me free. At 29 I had millions, but I met her and could finally see.”
Tasmin was killed on her 18th birthday. She had everything planned out. A psychology degree, a mother who pushed her to greatness, and a future anyone would die for. But then her murderer saved her life, only to sell her into a totally different existence.
Elder went from penniless to stinking rich with one twist of fate. His lifetime of crime and shadows of thievery are behind him but no matter the power he now wields, it’s not enough. He has an agenda to fulfil and he won’t stop until it’s complete.
But then they meet.
A beaten slave and a richly dressed thief. Money is what guided their separate fates. Money is what brought them together. And money is ultimately what destroys them.
She was poor.
He was rich.
Together…they were bankrupt.
