First off, let me just say, oh, my goodness. My fingers are still virtually scorched from scrolling the pages of this smoking hot book. Meredith Wild, you might have broken my e-reader with this one. Seriously, seriously steamy, y’all.
Okay, so, this book. I already knew Olivia from the other Bridge books, and was happy to see that she would be getting her own story. Olivia is really striking out on her own for the first time, finally removing herself from her parents’ orbit. When she meets Will Donovan, she’s ready to stand her ground to get what she wants, but, Lord, so is he. It was clear after their first dinner that there was going to be all sorts of shenanigans going on.
Will’s got his own share of backstory. As the son of Bill Donovan, he’s determined not to let his father misdeeds bleed over into his life. Used to calling all the shots and doing things his way, and not expecting at all to fall so hard so fast for Olivia, but fall he does, and he is a goner.
A moment of disclaimer here: I love Meredith Wild, so I’m going to happily read any and everything that she writes. So, did I really, really read the blurb for this book? No, not more than a cursory glance, because I knew that I would be diving in the moment that I could. So, I am going to also reveal that I was more than a little surprised by the appearance of one Ian Savo, and the role that he plays in this book. And, just, oh, my gosh. *fans self* Will’s and Olivia’s relationship just wouldn’t be complete without Ian, and he certainly quickly earned a place in my heart. This is not the first time that I’ve read this particular trope, but, dang, Meredith can write some group activity like nobody’s business.
Meredith has written another book that I throughly enjoyed, and that I will happily recommend. OVER THE EDGE is well-crafted, populated with characters that grabbed me from the moment that I met them, and is one heck of a ride. 4.5 white hot stars for this book. You really do not want to miss this one, so check it out now. NOTE: This is the third book in Meredith’s Bridges series, and, while it can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest reading the others first, just so you know the backstories on everyone.
