Successful and independent, she’s put a past she’s ashamed of behind her and is forging a future she can be proud of. However, when her new boss discovers her secret he blackmails her, intent on using Nadia’s popularity to make them the number one morning show in Massachusetts. Soon Nadia is thrown into the path of Caine’s best friend: sexy, wealthy bachelor Henry Lexington. But she doesn’t encounter the dashing high society gentleman Henry is purported to be. Instead she’s faced with an insulting and defensive villain who misjudges her at every turn.
When Henry finally realizes the truth, and decides to make amends, Nadia wants nothing to do with him. But she underestimates his determination and charm and soon they find themselves embroiled in an intense, passionate affair.
An affair Nadia knows must come to an end before their feelings grow any deeper and he discovers her secrets.
After all, Henry Lexington isn’t the only one who played the part of a villain once…

When Samantha Young released HERO waaay back in 2015, I fell in love. This book was one of my favorite reads that year, and I just absolutely adored it. So, when I saw that Sam was going to give us more from that world, that we were finallygoing to get the story for Henry Lexington, Caine Carraway’s bestie, I was over the moon. Y’all, I love this book. This shorter, sweet book and its characters stole my heart, and I couldn’t put it down.
Samantha continue to writes characters that are engaging, witty, sexy, and that find a place in my heart immediately. I’d met Henry in HERO, and he was already one of my favorites. Seeing more of him, the man behind the quick smile and witty repartee, was wonderful, and he really might be one of my favorite bbfs to date.
Nadia’s backstory is absorbing. There’s this allusion to a past (we all have them, don’t we?) throughout, and finding out more about it as the story unfolds makes clear why she is the way that she is. I actually really enjoy her, because she’s got all of the sass and spunk that I’ve come to expect in one of Samantha’s heroines.
You don’t have to have read HERO to enjoy VILLAIN, but it’s nice to have the background. It was a treat getting to spend more time with Caine and Alexa from the first book, and the other supporting characters, even Henry’s mother, were a the perfect mix for the story. An easy 4.5 stars for VILLAIN. I’d be more than happy to see even more of these folks, and couldn’t be happier to recommend both this book and the first.
